Born: 2006 / Hometown: Edmonton / Graduation Year: 2024

Born Emily Marie Laberge on April 10, 2006, in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, she began playing hockey at the age of 4 in New Sarepta, Alberta and began developing a  passion for the sport of hockey. Emily is known for her strong skating ability and strength along the boards. She is always working on improving her shooting, skating skills and speed. Her continuing work ethic and determination is an asset on any hockey team.

The main thing that Emily enjoys about hockey is being with her friends. After playing Peewee Tier 1 mixed hockey in the Northern Alberta Interlock League last season, Emily made the difficult decision to leave her friends to transition to female hockey. As a first year Bantam Elite player, she is hoping to further enhance her skills both as a hockey player and teammate and gain new friendships along the way.

Emily hopes to one day play for team Alberta and perhaps have an opportunity to play girls professional hockey in the NWHL. If she doesn’t make it to the NWHL she would like to attend college or university and play varsity hockey and attain a degree.

Additional tidbits:

  • Emily played Forward most of the 2018/19 season and became a more diverse player being able to effectively play both forward and defense.
  • Emily has has a leading role as a player in spring hockey for the CanWest 2006 AAA girls in Edmonton
  • She has been working with a strengthening coach at 9 Rounds Fitness and  to improve her strength, cardio and skills with kick boxing.
